Laplace and Cayley transforms – an approximation point of view

چکیده
We interpret the Cayley transform of linear (finiteor infinite-dimensional) state space systems as a numerical integration scheme of Crank–Nicolson type. If such a scheme is applied to a conservative system, then the resulting discrete time system is conservative in the discrete time sense. We show that the convergence of this integration scheme is equivalent to an approximation of the Laplace transform.

Autoconvolution equations and generalized Mittag-Leffler functions
This article is devoted to study of the autoconvolution equations and generalized Mittag-Leffler functions. These types of equations are given in terms of the Laplace transform convolution of a function with itself. We state new classes of the autoconvolution equations of the first kind and show that the generalized Mittag-Leffler functions are solutions of these types of equations. In view of ...

Achievement to sustainable development is dependent upon integrated watershed management. In other hand without detailed analysis of the rainfall - runoff observations, high risk of flood predictions will be translated into flood-induced capital losses. Considering the fact that not always hydrometric data are available, using synthetic unit hydrograph is one of the most popular methods of floo...
متن کاملTheory of photothermal wave diffraction tomography via spatial Laplace spectral decomposition
Laser-generated thermal wave diffraction theory is presented as a perturbative Born (or Rytav) approximation in a two-dimensional spatial domain for use with tomographic image reconstruction methodologies. The ranges of validity of the pertinent twodimensional spatial-frequencylthermal wavenumber domain complex plane contours are investigated in terms of the existence af inverse spatial Laplace...
متن کاملSuper- and sub-additive transformations of aggregation functions from the point of view of approximation
The way super- and sub-additive transformations of aggregation functions are introduced involve suprema and infima taken over simplexes whose dimensions may grow arbitrarily. Exact values of such transformations may thus be hard to determine in general. In this note we discuss methods of algorithmic approximation of such transformations.
